Blue Streak Equipment

At GTMA we are not only committed to providing you with high-quality equipment from Blue Streak Equipment, but also to providing exceptional service to go along with your world-class equipment. With GT Mid Atlantic, you can be confident that you’re getting the best quality skid steer magnetic sweepers.

There are 2 types of magnetic sweepers suitable for operation on a Skid Steer:

  • Fork-Mounted: Fork mounted magnets quickly and easily attach to your skid steer’s forks using upward clamping fork pockets.
  • Front Mounted: Front mounted magnetic sweepers easily attach to skid steers / track loaders using a universal adaptor plate similar to a bucket attachment, if auxiliary hydraulics are present on the magnet they connect using standard hydraulic fittings.

Top 3 Things to Consider Before Purchasing a Skid Steer Magnetic Sweeper

1. What terrain will the magnet be operating in.

Depending on the area of operation you intend to use a sweeper on, different products may be best suited to your needs. Our Oblast model is perfect for moderate terrain as its curved edge will glide over obstacles without sustaining any damage to the magnet. If you are working in severe terrain with large potholes and bumps the Upland is the magnetic sweeper for you. The Upland’s suspension and ground tracking system maintains a set sweeping height over severe conditions.

2. How Large are the forks of the Skid Steer that will attach to the magnet?

The fork attachment on your skid steer must have forks that are a maximum of 7” inches wide on 24” inch centers to work with the Oblast model, while the Upland can fit on forks that are up to 5.5” inches wide on 22” inch centers. Be sure to verify the adjustability and width of your forks to ensure proper fitment.

3. Where will you unload accumulated debris?

Both of the fork mounted sweepers feature easy clean-off that lets users raise the magnet over a bin and release debris by pulling one of the debris tray release handles on either side of the unit. This will require another person to release the debris tray while the magnet is raised over the desired receptacle. The front mounted options have hydraulic or gravity release mechanisms, so the operator won’t need assistance.
